Oh blog, how I have neglected you. Our relationship is really suffering here lately and I do apologize. Things that still need blogging:
Trip to St. Louis zoo…….although this may take a backseat to actual important events
Dan and Rachael’s wedding
Michael and Emily’s wedding
Chad and Alysia’s engagement session
Chris and Sammie’s wedding
Chris and Bethany’s wedding
Tom and Brittany’s wedding
Keith and Abbie’s wedding
Colin and Erin’s engagement session
Whew! I don’t know if my carpal tunneled hand can keep up with all that awesomeness. It’s trying it’s best not to simply drop off of my body and make it’s escape, Addam’s Family “Thing” style.
Anway, on to Drew and Amanda’s engagement session!

Typical Illinois spring humidity? Check. Stunning color combinations and details? Double check. One of the sweetest couples ever to grace our memory cards? Check, check, and check again. How do I get so lucky with these couples? Boy oh boy. Samantha, rocking her gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress, was up for literally ANYTHING. Laying in the grass, going barefoot ALL DAY, walking down the middle of downtown Chillicothe in said bare feet…it was amazing.
This girl is alllll about the details. At the reception, she told me that she MADE, by HAND all 4,300 paper flowers decorating the reception tables. As in cut out each flower, folded it, put it on it’s stem, and made it into a bouquet. Wow.
These two just have such warm hearts and I for one feel extremely lucky to have had the chance to meet these two and be a part of their most special day.
BEST wishes to you both!!!

Yes, the above door is changed from “reality” I just wasn’t a fan of the red. I made it pink below too. Now if only I could patent a device to photoshop real life, I’d be set. No more bad hair days for me!

And there’s one more to come after this! Portraits if just the couple coming later this evening – thanks to Cort and especially Samantha for being patient in waiting for these! All of your galleries are going up today as well so I’ll be in touch soon.

I think her words here were “I’m a bride!!” The veil really does make it – once that thing goes on, you’re official.

Isn’t this candy buffet the cutest thing ever? I want to get married again and have Samantha be my craft maker. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind doing that allllll over again, right?

I would like to adopt him as MY grandpa!

She catches the bouquet…….

Then decides she doesn’t want it and does a quick pass to the next lady in line. LOVE this shot!!

Words coming later. I just had to get some of these up for my favorite two people ever to have a dog named Allie.
This is just a tiny preview of the bigger blog post with more favorites to come later…I hope you two have so much fun on your honeymoon – the rest will be ready to go by the time you’re back!

Matt and Sara – I would have appreciated it if you would have been a bit duller and a little less photogenic, it sure would have made picking out my favorites easier! As it stands, I love every single image these two created. Of course I’m a sucker for a good outdoorsy, grassy, romancy shot – but these two just made these images that much more amazing in my book.
I can’t wait to work with you guys again! This time Brandon will have the correct terminology down for your job title Matt…he’s been practicing

I’m not even sure I have words for this couple. To pull out my big vocabulary words, they’re really-extra-super-very-much-of-lots adorable. SO full of fun and energy and loooove for each other, my camera almost couldn’t handle all of the awesomeness. I sort of apologize for the photo overload here, but then again, it was rather hard to avoid
Hubby and I inadvertently crashed their dance lessons tonight, looking our very finest after a long day of furniture hauling/painting/garden planting – let’s just say I’m more than a little bit excited to see their inner Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers shine through on their big day – but no pressure or anything.
Thanks you two for one of the most fun sessions ever! And tell giant dog Maggie hello for me

Billie and Jamie’s wedding was just one of those “feel good” weddings. These two are so fantastically easy to work with – they just ooze love and good looking-ness. (using the word ooze in the best way possible here…) Jamie had selected such fun, vibrant colors and her dress was the most perfect embodiment of of romantic bride. These two could not have hand-picked nicer weather for their day. The blossoms were out, the air was fresh and clean and the sun was a-shinin’! Their reception at Five Points in Washington was decked out in some fabulous decor – truly a beautiful, festive event.
Congratulations Billy and Jamie!

Sorry Billy – I couldn’t pass this one up

For this post, I decided to show a bit more of the “photojournalistic” side of how we shoot weddings – I know I typically like to post up all the romantic together couple shots, but Mark and Genifer’s wedding just lent itself so well to stealth shooting as this was such a close-knit group, with joy, laughter…and balloons, weaving around the newly emerged grape vines. The Mackinaw Valley Vineyard was once again fantastic – so much work has been done here over the winter, making it a truly unique venue for both ceremonies and receptions. Something about it is just always so peaceful – truly a gorgeous backdrop for a truly gorgeous day. After Mark and Genifer exchanged their self-written vows, guests were each given balloons to release into the blue Illinois sky. The light was dipping below the horizon quickly, but we still had time to get some beautiful images of this beautiful couple before heading over to The Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington for the reception. And these two win the prize for most fun bouquet and garter tosses.
Mark and Genifer – it was a privilege to be a part of your day, best wishes for your future as Mr. and Mrs.
